Welch Allyn Hiring 40 for Jobs Near Syracuse

If you’ve been in a doctor’s office recently, chances are good you’ve seen a product developed by Welch Allyn, a medical device manufacturer based in Skaneateles, NY—a stone’s throw from Syracuse.  Welch Allyn makes everything from exam lamps and stethoscopes to blood pressure cuffs, and are currently hiring for 40 positions, the majority of which are based in NY state. Indications are strong that this might just be a company worth moving for if you like the work: the company has an employee retention rate of 94% and has been recognized as one of Fortune’s 100 Best Place to Work. Earlier the week, Welch Allyn CEO and President Julie Shimer was tapped to lead New York State’s key agency for growing jobs.

Oracle has lots of sales jobs in Boston.

If you check out some of the big aggregators it seems like Oracle posted a HUGE number of new jobs in the last few days. if you look at the oracle.com site…it seems that this surge is vastly overly reported.  That said, there are lot of really solid, good paying sales positions open.

22,432 square feet of golf hiring in Reading.

Golf Town (golftown.com) has negotiated a 22,432-square-foot lease in a former Linen ‘N Things location at The Crossing at Walkers Brook in Reading.  According to this article, a new store will open in this location at the end of March. If you have aways wanted to use the phrase ‘let the club head do the work’ multiple times a day in a professional setting…you may want to check it out.

Excuse Me, There’s a Job in Your Beer

The Brooklyn Brewery, a producer of craft beer, hires 48 employees now. Fox News reports plans to double their headcount within the next three years. Producing the equivalent of 1.5 million cases in 2010 didn’t fully satisfy customer so the company is expanding their production facilities. Bigger capacity to produce equals bigger capacity to hire.

No jobs posted yet but we see over 139 beer-related jobs brewing nationwide, from Denver and Portland to Boston, Chicago, DC and Newburgh, New York.

Pharma Watch: Accredo Hiring 100 Nationwide

Accredo Health, a Memphis-Based provider of specialty pharmaceuticals, boosted profits for 2010 by 19% to an all-time record of $11.3B. A subsidiary of Jersey-based Medco Health Solutions, Accredo is currently hiring for 100 positions.

ZocDoc: 150+ Hires in 90 Days (Makes Sweet Offer)

Hard to believe that the company Crain’s New York named the best place to work in the Big Apple is short on candidates? Nonetheless, ZocDoc, a company which helps private citizens make doctor’s appointments, has launched an aggressive campaign to expand staff nationwide by 165 over the next 90 days.

They’ll be hiring for 150 sales jobs, and 15 in engineering. Lots of jobs in New York, with sales executive jobs just about everywhere from Boston to Austin, and San Francisco to LA, Philly, and DC…

Wells Fargo Hiring 1,000+ for DC Area

Wells Fargos is on the fast track to hire employees for 404 banks in and near the Washington Beltway. Their goal: to hire 1,000 new employees by May.

Jobs run the gamut from tellers and personal bankers to store management. It’s quite possible that a few will also be focused on marketing: The staff-up is being done in advance of Well Fargos re-branding campaign. Currently, openings are in branches operating under the Wachovia brand—acquired by Wells Fargo in 2008. Come fall, they’ll be known as Wells Fargo.
