FedCap Opens Offices in Bronx, To Hire 150

March 25th, 2011

Ribbon cutting yesterday on new Bronx offices of Fedcap, a non-profit that helps candidates with barriers to employment get to work. Fedcap is currently hiring 15 with plans to hire a total of 150.
Former New York City Mayor David Dinkins and regional economic development officials were among the officials opening the facility.

“Fedcap creates permanent jobs that provide a livable wage, medical benefits and hopeful futures for local people in New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.,” said Christine McMahon, Fedcap president and CEO.

“But jobs alone aren’t enough to break the cycles of poverty and need. Fedcap reaches out to communities to understand their comprehensive challenges, and partners with other nonprofits and agencies to help meet them. “

Fedcap provides evaluation, training, counseling, advocacy, job placement and job creation. The organization says, “each year we help more than 2,000 Americans overcome obstacles, and find and keep meaningful employment.”

Here are current opportunities listed at FedCap; you may want to follow up with the new office staff for additional leads.
