Hiring Watch Chicago: PR Firms & Groupon Expand Office Digs

Real estate deals are a great bellwether of hiring. Here are big ones in Chicago: Global PR firms, Golin Harris and Weber Shandwick will occupy 140,000 square feet in the John Hancock Center; Groupon is adding another 150,000 square feet to office space on the Windy City’s North Wacker Drive. We’d hate to be footing Groupon’s bill – we hear they pay over $440,000 a month in rent!

Here’s what makes the Groupon expansion especially interesting, the new expansion is over three times the space they rented in November. That’s a lot of hiring.
