Lead Mammographer (Outpatient) - Women's Imaging Center - Full-time (Day) (50713)

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and the direction of the Radiologist, performs routine and special mammography procedures at an advanced specialist skills and knowledge level according to established practices and procedures in an outpatient setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Performs mammography studies; obtains patient history; explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.

2 Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.

3 Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for training other technicians/technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.

4 Maintains department quality assurance program.

5 Positions patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.

6 Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

7 Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.

8 Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.

Department Description:

The Women's Imaging Department is located within the WellSpan Apple Hill Campus in York, PA. This unique location provides high quality imaging services to women for various imaging procedures such as:

* Digital Diagnostic and Screening Mammography

* Bone Densitometry (DEXA)

* Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

* Ultrasound

* Breast/thyroid interventional procedures

Required Skills

ARRT with mammography certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Training Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in mammography procedures

Required Experience

5 years or more mammography experience

Experience in ACR submissions MQSA inspections preferred

Leadership experience a plus
