Laboratory Support Analyst - Part Time

* York Hospital is looking for an experience Lab Support Analyst. This is a new part time, 20hrs/wk position and is located in York, Maine.

The Lab Support Analyst is responsible for helping maintain the operation and maintenance of the laboratory information systems (databases and hardware), assisting with implementation of system software and/or hardware changes, and serving as a resource to users regarding application functionality.

1. Oversees daily LIS operations, equipment interfaces, and implementation of software upgrades.

2. Recognizes problems with the Laboratory Information systems or hardware, take appropriate action when the system is not functioning properly and notify all appropriate individuals.

3. Monitors error logs and performs daily review tasks, and provides timely resolution in accordance with department guidelines.

4. Works collaboratively with IT to configure, install and maintain all LIS input and output devices, including interfaces.

5. Acts as a liaison for the Laboratory with IT.

6. Reviews and evaluates user requests/needs and implements the necessary/appropriate changes.

7. Engages and works collaboratively with Allscripts support, when appropriate.

8. Engages and works collaboratively with IT for hardware issues, when appropriate.

9. Communicates regularly with IT and Director about system performance, problems and changes.

10. Acts as a resource to other departments regarding all aspects of LIS, and provides prompt and accurate support for outside department concerns.

11. In collaboration with Director, acts as owner for laboratory-related system upgrades and implementations.

12. Communicates upcoming functionality and system changes to Director of Laboratory Services and Technical Specialists.

13. Reports project status to Director and IT on a routine basis.

14. Specifies new hardware or upgrade requirements to existing hardware related to the LIS with IT.

15. Designs and tests end user systems, interfaces and integration modalities.

16. In collaboration with Director and Technical Specialists, identifies educational needs for new system functionality and workflows.

17. Coordinates and/or conducts formal/informal education and training for users.

* BS in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Chemistry, and MLS Certification

* Minimum of 5 years medical technologist experience, or

* Previous Laboratory Information System analyst experience
