Overview

The primary responsibility of the Social Workers is to work collaboratively with the RTC staff to ensure that the daily needs and essential treatment services for the children and their families. The Social Workers manage all the social service needs and ensures that all ACS requirements are met within the mandated timeframes. This includes children and families on trial and final discharge.

Responsibilities

* Ensure concurrent planning

* Attend all court hearings and appointments

* Participate in weekly treatment team meetings

* Conduct home assessments and on-going family visits

* Facilitate discharges as per Permanency Planning Goals

* Prepare for, schedule and participate in family team conferences

* Participate in weekly supervision with the Director of Social Services

* Compliance with AWOL and incident reporting procedures when appropriate

* Provision of services to ensure achievement of the earliest possible permanency

* Ensure that each child has a visiting/permanency resource and that the resources home is safe

* Complete psychosocial assessment on all cases and ensures that all children have up-to-date clinical evaluations on file

* Ensure that children are in receipt of all social service entitlements and are in possession of all legal documents at time of discharge

* Provide individual, family and group counseling. Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with assigned families

* Responsible for the maintenance of the case records for his/her assigned cases to ensure that all documentation is located in the appropriate place

* Perform other job-related tasks and duties as assigned

* Complete exceptions to policy when necessary, and submit to the Director of Social Services

* Refer children and families to outside services when appropriate

* Compliance with New York City Administration of Childrens Services regulations. This includes but is not limited to: completion of FASPs, Permanency Hearing Reports, Incident Reports and Progress notes, as well as maintaining casework contact standards as issued by ACS and OCFS

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

* MSW or MS/MA in other related human services field and 2-3 years post Masters experience

* Valid New York State Drivers License

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Computer proficient, knowledge of Connections

* Knowledge of child welfare and related legislation

* Demonstrated knowledge of family court procedures

Preferred Education and Experience

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
