Controls Senior Project Engineer

Location: Wyoming, MI

Duration: 3-4 months

Specific Responsibilities of this Position:

Support off-shift production in gear manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities:

* Every machine has a certain type of controller, these engineers would be supporting the off shift production for machine tool equipment. Troubleshooting and collecting the production machine up time.

* Fixing the machines that are down and getting them back up and running

* Typically managing between 5-10 machining projects at once

* Design and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems

* Human factors consideration

* Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts

* Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources

* Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology

* Work may involve providing technical direction to and coordination of less experienced process/controls engineers

* Manufacturing and assembly equipment controls, vision and robots

Must Have:

* Bachelors of Science in computer science or equivalent field of study

* If candidate's have a Bachelor's degree they need to have 5 years of controls experience to be qualified for the role

* If candidate's have a high school diploma they would need to have 10 years of experience in PLC programming to be qualified for the role Experienced with Rockwell and Siemens PLC programming methods.

* Familiar with Fanuc robot programming methods (Preferred)

Typical Day:

* 80% of their day will be on the manufacturing plant floor coordinating production

* 20% of the day would be working on paperwork, studies, and attending meetings

Education:

* BS Controls or equivalent work experience.

Additional Skills:

* Experienced with Rockwell and Siemens PLC programming methods. (Preferred) Familiar with Fanuc robot programming methods.(Preferred)
