UMass Memorial Health Care is seeking an outstanding clinician and leader for a Clinical Chief of Hematology/Oncology position. The Clinical Chief, an employee of UMass Memorial and a faculty member of University of Massachusetts Medical School, is responsible for the delivery of hematology/oncology services and is accountable to the UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Memorial Medical Group for the quality of patient services delivered by the members of the division. All clinicians within the division work under the direction of the Clinical Chief at all times to assure their competency and maximize their capabilities as described in their scope of practice.

Our ideal candidate will be board certified in hematology or oncology with academic medical center experience and current administrative and/or leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will have many duties including:

* Leadership: Develop a vision and oversee all clinical activities of the division, including fostering a collaboration established in 2014 between UMass Memorial Health Care and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to provide optimal care for patients with rare or complex cancers, to expand access to clinical trials, and to create distinctive educational and training opportunities for clinicians

* Quality and Safety: Oversee hematology/oncology services for ambulatory clinics, community hospitals and other outreach facilities, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, inpatient and ED consults and services, and hemophilia program

* Regulatory: Reviews credentials and hospital privileges of clinicians and monitors medical documentation practices by division, providing intervention if necessary

* Budgetary: Fiscal responsibility for the clinical activities of the division

* Daily Operational Activities: Provides 24-hour availability and, when necessary, appoints an appropriately qualified designee
