Laboratory Technician

Randstad is the #1 HR Services Company in the world and we are sourcing for a Laboratory Technician in the Western Suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will maintain documentation related to safety programs including SOP's, raw materials, finished product specifications, internal and external inspections, and lab records. They will also be responsible for taking samples, calibrating lab equipment, and all other duties assigned. This is a contract position and can start immediately.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Maintain documentation in support of product quality and food safety programs including (but not limited to) standard operating procedures, raw material and finished product specifications, internal and external inspections and audits, and lab records

- Communication with plant personnel on quality and food safety programs.

- Responsible for all aspects of the timely, accurate analysis of raw and finished products.

- Communication of product status with the butteroil and evaporator departments.

- Accurately perform microbiological analysis on liquid and raw materials.

- Aseptically prepare product samples, fill out request forms, and ship samples to outside testing laboratories as required.

- Maintain sample identification numbering system as required by Corporate R&D.

- Calibrate lab equipment as required.

- Perform environmental sampling.

- Abide by GLP (Good Lab Practices), GMP & Safety Policies.

- Attends required training, including but not limited to: GMP's, GLP's, HACCP, SQF, SAFETY, etc.

- All other duties as assigned.



- Ability to read, speak & understand both oral and written instructions

- Skilled in problem solving & willingness to work in a team environment

- Ability to pass a background check & physical/drug screen

- Proficient in Word, Excel, Office & other basic computer programs

- HS Diploma/GED preferred

Physical Demands:

- Standing, twisting, pushing, pulling throughout shift

- Lifting, carrying, and/or lowering up to 50 pounds

- Repetition of hand/wrist, doing simple grasping

- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
