Research Associate - Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine Full-time, Staff

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Research Associate who can perform and manage research projects that involve planning, development, implementation, evaluation and reporting. The research associate is expected to work closely with principal investigator (s) and assist with leading a team of scientists to facilitate progress of research projects. Some of the duties include, but not limited to the following:

* Provide technical skills training to investigators and assist with problem solving.

* Provide scientific guidance to investigators.

* Ensure timely progress of research projects and identify areas of technical difficulty and provide solutions.

* Evaluate progress of research projects and assess validity of research data.

* Participate in grant proposal planning and writing.

* Responsible for managing research projects and overseeing day to day laboratory activities.

* Communicate with sponsors and report progress of research projects.

* Manage research portfolio and identify potential grant opportunities.

* Evaluate the quality of research outcomes and ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed properly.

* Ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed in adherence to regulation.

* Presentation of research outcomes in scientific meetings and through publications.

Education/Experience:

1.Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering

2.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of scientific principles

3.5 years of post-doctoral research experience.

Research Associates are classified as non-faculty, full-time employees whose appointments are contingent upon extramural funding. With investigators, direct and coordinate various aspects of the study/project directed toward planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination. This classification requires the use of judgment and discretion in performing the assigned duties and responsibilities related to the project. These actions establish precedents and direction for the project.
