JobOverview:

Positionsand secures steel bars in concrete forms to reinforce concrete.

Therole of a Foreman is to assist the General Foreman in providing leadership,direction and supervision of craft workers; to provide coordination in orderthat crafts work in a safe and productive manner. They evaluate, monitor andreport on work progression, whilst ensuring that all works are conducted incompliance and in line with man-hour budget.

Thisperson is to have a full working knowledge of their craft sector, to be awareof industry/legislative changes, safety protocols, relevant certifications (forpersonnel or equipment).

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

* Determines number, size, shape andlocations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches or oral instructions.

* Positions and secures steel bars inconcrete forms to reinforce concrete.

* Selects and places rod in forms; spacingand fastening them together using wire and pliers.

* Cuts bars to required lengths, usinghacksaw, bar cutters or acetylene torch.

* Bend steel rods with hand tools or rodbending machine.

* Reinforces concrete with wire mesh.

* May reinforce concrete with wire mesh.May weld reinforcing bar together, using arc-welding equipment.

* Insures that all reinforcing material isin its proper position, so it receives its intended structural load.

* Loads, transports, unloads material,tools, equipment and supplies.

* May assist in lifting, positioning andsecuring of material and work pieces during installation.

* May perform minor maintenance orcleaning activities of tools and equipment.

* Responsible for observing and complyingwith all safety and project rules.

* Performs other duties as required

* Planand coordinate labor requirements.

* Evaluatingperformance against schedule.

* Closingout Punch list items as allocated.

* AdvisingGeneral Foreman of any issues, impacts, risks or potential costs (financial ortime).

* Maintainingand updating short range look ahead.

* Maintainand monitor company and project specific HSE plans, ensuring awareness and complianceis asserted.

* Monitorsand reports on cost and man-hour budgets.

BasicQualifications:

* NCCER or equivalent certification with relevant experience.

* Minimumof 12 months documented field experience at Journeyman 3 level in chosen craftdiscipline.

* Musthave the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.

* Experiencein maintaining short range look ahead plans.

* Experience in monitoring cost and man-hour budgets.

Desired/PreferredQualifications:

* Work within precise limits or standards ofaccuracy.

* Rate information us' standards which can bemeasured or checked.

* Compare and see differences 'in the size, shapeand forms of lines, figures and object.

* Look at blueprints, drawings or pictures andunderstand how they would look as solid objects with height, width or depth.

* Apply basic mathematical skills.

* Follow oral and written directions.

* Basicunderstanding of IT systems, including: Email, MS Office (Excel), etc.

* Communicationskills, both verbal and written.

* Experience in adhering to, monitoring and implementing project HSEpolicies.

* Must supply own tools appropriate forbasic tasks.
