The Project Investment Engineer (PIE) is responsible the monthly oversight of the Capital Plan and for the end to end project controls function (cost, schedule and estimating). This will also include ensuring that all projects are compliant with Internal Control Standards and all major projects have a monthly cost review using appropriate reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify monthly capital expenditures from Corporate financial reporting system
  • Review and finalize all supporting files for the Business Capital Review meeting
  • Finalize charts and lead Business Monthly Capital Review meetings
  • Issue monthly capital outlooks
  • Subject matter expert for capital project and portfolio management system (Ecosys)
  • Drive capital system data quality and reporting including metrics
  • Drive usage of tools to provide dashboards for capital portfolio performance
  • Monthly Capital Review productivity improvements
  • Ensure capital projects are compliant with Internal Controls standards
  • Validate all estimates going into gate reviews
  • Ensure that all major projects
  • Ensure that all major projects have a cost engineer/analyst assigned and monthly meetings are scheduled. Attend the meetings.
  • Cost Control coaching and guidance on project related financial topics
  • Support lesson learned/project critiques
  • Network with Investment Engineering community for leveraging opportunities
  • Support Capital Engineering Team as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • BS in Engineering or other technical degree
  • 3-5 years of experience with Capital/ Project Engineering or related experience
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and data management tools, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in capital project management system will be gained quickly after starting the role.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Familiar with project controls disciplines (estimating, cost control and scheduling)
  • Ability to interface and communicate clearly across the organization, including project teams, site leaders and business teams.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Travel for this role will be minimal
