Traveling Project Manager

Job Description

Key Construction is currently seeking Traveling Project Managers. Project Managers plan, coordinate, budget and supervise construction projects from development to completion while serving as the customer's point of contact throughout each project. Qualified applicant must have at least 3 years of experience managing large construction projects. This position will require traveling; location will be on a per project basis.

Essential Functions Include:

* Prepare cost estimates, budgets and work timetables

* Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion

* Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site superintendent to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget

* Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

* Review work progress on a daily basis

* Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings

* Collaborate with architects, engineers and other construction specialists

* Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status

* Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones

* Analyze, manage and mitigate risks

* Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques

* Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills & Experience:

* Experience with large Retail, Hospitality, Multi-family, Critical Facilities, Light Industrial and/or Healthcare preferred.

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering or other related field is required

* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and excellent presentation skills are required

* Strong organization, leadership, negotiation and delegation skills are required

* Must be able to interact effectively and diplomatically with a number of diverse people, both on an individual basis as well as within group situations

* Proven ability to develop lasting, positive customer relationships

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required

* Valid Driver's License required.
