Recruiting: Incumbent is responsible for recruitment and selection services, including creating job postings, actively searching for passive job candidates, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, recommending candidates, completing reference checks, and recommending compensation. Provides feedback to hiring manager on all candidates and participates in final employment decision. Leads the onboarding process for AgVantis employees. Conducts orientation with all new employees.
Training and Development: Assists in identifying, designing and implementing various training and development programs and initiatives to support the professional development of employees. Assists in the Personal Development Planning process and assists employees and managers in identifying appropriate resources to meet these goals.
Benefits/Payroll Administration: Communicates benefit programs to employees and processes appropriate paperwork for benefits administration. Leads the design and implementation of unique fringe benefits, including service awards or other recognition programs. Submits appropriate payroll maintenance for processing, including leading the annual leave cashout program and various other taxable transactions. This area includes worker’s compensation, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and general liability insurance.
Administrative Duties: Creates and maintains the employee files, ensuring compliance with all policies, laws, and regulations. Coordinates with Foundations on HR related programs including the wellness program for AgVantis. Maintains updated job descriptions. Maintains adequate supply of forms, manuals, and other materials for the HR Department.
HR Policies & Procedures: Interprets policies and procedures on an on-going basis for employees and management. Assists in drafting and recommending new and revised HR policies, procedures and controls to ensure a high level of internal controls are maintained within the AgVantis human resource function. Researches competitive practices and recommends “best practices” for the company.
Strategic Organizational Planning: Responsible for preparing the the Human Capital Plan, the Succession Plan, the Employee Handbook and generates ideas on practices to help AgVantis meet organizational objectives.
Employee Relations: Assists employees and managers in investigating, evaluating, and resolving employee relations issues and concerns. Coaches managers on how to handle sensitive situations. Completes exit interviews. Coordinates completion of the performance management process.
Education including a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant, successful HR experience.
Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and collaborative skills are required.
Position requires excellent customer service skills.
Able to work independently.
Able to manage confidential information.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
HRIS experience required.
Professional certification preferred.
Regular attendance is required, with the ability to work a full 8 hour day.
