Responsibilities

* Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in a courteous manner.

* Provides administrative support including typing/word processing, mail preparation, copying, distribution, telephone calls, and travel orders for CYS personnel.

* Inputs data into the Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) as required.

* Computes and records individual transactions for customers and enter data for regulatory signed statistical reports and tracking of income data as it pertains to the CYS program as required.

* Ensures risk management procedures are followed

* Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required

* Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

* A one year probationary period may be required

* Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check

* Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty

* Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required

* Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease

* Must have immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations

* Successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required

* Travel to on and off post locations required

* Ability to work split shifts between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, to include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Skill in operating a manual or electric typewriter and current automation system and software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel) required.

2. Must be able to type a minimum of 40 WPM.

3. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation and composition techniques needed to accurately type a variety of material from written sources or voice recordings.

4. Possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Highly Preferred Criteria:

1. Knowledge of formats, forms (such as used in CYMS), typing policies, and common terminology of a Child and Youth Services program (SAS, CDC, MST, etc.)

2. Minimum of 6 months prior experience in administrative/clerical work (E.g. Record keeping, data entry, use of MS Office/CYMS/database applications, handling inbound and outbound calls, receiving customers, providing excellent customer service for telephone and in-person customers, etc.).

3. Minimum of 6 months prior experience in creating professional written communication for internal and external dissemination.

4. Minimum of 6 months prior experience in payroll processing.

5. Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of customer interaction.

6. Knowledge of the United States Army policies and regulations.
