Bistro Supervisor

The Bistro Supervisor is responsible for all service levels associated with Bistro operations. He/She directs the food runners, waitstaff, and bussers to ensure exception attention is paid to every detail related to guest satisfaction. The Bistro Supervisor trains, evaluates, continuously monitors, and re-trains all dining room staff to comply with the restaurant's steps of service program. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Supervisor is ultimately responsible for hiring, firing, and performance reporting for each associate. He/She must have strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in all areas of food/beverage and front-of-house operations to include training, scheduling, guest services, ABC Laws, health regulations, business software systems, reporting requirements, and special event (set-up and tear-down).

The ideal candidate for this position has a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management (combination of formal culinary and/or vocational training plus on-the-job training may substitute); two years experience in a food services supervisory role, high guest service standards, experience as a trainer, a highly collaborative nature and sincerely helpful demeanor, and a willingness to accept full accountability for dining room operations.

The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

* - Ensures that the food runners, wait and bus staff meets basic service and quality standards.

* - Always aware of guest's needs.

* - Trains all associates to meet and exceed Breakfasts steps of service, Lunch steps of service, and Dinner steps of services.

* - Ensures side work and cleaning are done on a daily basis.

* - Schedules within budget guidelines.

* - Knowledgeable of ABC Laws and Health Regulations.

* - Knowledgeable of all reports required by the restaurant.

* - Knowledgeable of register (computer) system.

* - Hires/fires staff and performs performance evaluations for each associate supervised.

* - Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

* - Takes disciplinary measures when needed, equally to all staff, and according to standards.

* - Is fully knowledgeable of menu prices, daily specials, menu items and register systems.

* - Is neatly attired at all times in the required uniform/personal clothing and maintains a professional and congenial attitude.

* - Is alert to the operation of the dining room.

* - Performs other duties as Requested.
