Secretary V - West Lafayette - Computer Graphics Technology

Perform administrative/clerical support functions necessary in order to effectively provide ongoing quality operations of the unit, and/or organization. Disseminate and relay information to internal and external customers. Provide information as needed to maintain effective business operations. Plan, schedule meetings and appointments, maintain calendars for an individual or a group of individuals. May assist with special projects and help with event coordination. May process travel and provide assistance with budget transactions. Serve as department graduate school secretary. Liaison with International Students and Scholars Office. Serve as secretary to the Product Lifecycle Management program director. May perform other duties as necessary to help accomplish unit goals.

Required:

* High School Diploma / GED

* Three years of Secretarial or similar administrative office experience

* Strong verbal, written and effective communication excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation

* Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build successful working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels through teamwork in daily work activities

* Customer service focused

* Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks while providing accurate and effective attention to detail

* Self-directed and able to use own initiative to forecast and follow through with essential and non-essential functions

* Integrity to make sound judgments, use discretion and maintain confidentiality

* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment

* Must have a learning orientation to changing technology and business processes.

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Preferred:

* College or University work experience

* Ability to interpret and communicate policies and procedures.

* Software: PowerPoint
