Clerk IV - West Lafayette - Honors College in Residences

Provide clerical support for a University Residence. Work in the main desk area in a student centered environment and prioritize responsibilities while continuing to maintain the highest level of customer service. Train student employees. Enter and update student records and prepare reports. Word process a variety of documents. Assist during check-in and check-out process. Answer telephone, take messages and refer calls. Share over-the-counter customer service responsibilities. Weekend work required during check-in and check-out.


* High school diploma/GED.

* Two years office experience.

* Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.

* Required competencies are work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision making, and dependability.

* Additional required competencies may include financial, coaching, delegation, and planning.

* Strong attention to detail and stress tolerance.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

* Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, telephone etiquette, organizational and customer support.

* Basic math skills.

* Ability to supervise, train and direct student staff.

* Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds utilizing teamwork in daily work activity.

Additional Information:

* Days and hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm.

* Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.
