Job Description

An experienced Infusion RN is needed for the Hartford Healthcare Headache Center. Infusion nurse responsibilities include administering IV medications, placing peripheral IVs for acute visits, administering IM injections, ordering medications/IV fluids/supplies, keeping inventory of medications/IV fluids/supplies, and being an advocate for the infusion patients and the program itself. This innovative program allows the Infusion RN to have autonomy and the freedom to organize their day they see best for both the patient and nurse. Communication skills, documentation in an EMR, and a solid knowledge base in IV medication administration are vital. Experience with EPIC, PeopleSoft, and Excel preferred but not required

Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for a patient population within a unit, service or other primary area of practice with an awareness of the episode of care. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's Framework for Professional Practice. Functions as clinically competent. Delegates and supervises work appropriately. Reports to Practice Manager.

Current Connecticut RN License required.

Communication skills, documentation in an EMR, and a solid knowledge base in IV medication administration are vital.

Experience with EPIC, PeopleSoft, and Excel preferred but not required

Previous experience in Medical/Surgical Office setting preferred.
