Position Purpose

The Communications Specialist position is a key role within the Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers North America communication team, connecting employees to the information they need to deliver business results. This role is responsible for the effective execution of specific elements of the communications strategies in CSST North America, including the strategy and content of the regional intranet pages. The role works with stakeholders throughout our region, including all product segments and locations, as well as the Cargill Starches, Sweeteners & Texturizers global communication team.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Ownership of the CSST North America weekly newsletter and intranet channels. This includes sourcing, planning, and writing articles; posting content on the regional intranet site; creating and sending weekly newsletters; working with commercial and functional leaders to create and maintain pages that support their team communication goals; making suggestions to improve site performance; continuously driving for engaging content and design; monitoring metrics to drive for continuous improvement; implementing CSST metrics, working in close collaboration with CSST digital specialist.

40% Execute internal and external communications strategies and projects, helping employees get the information they need to do their jobs to and building and enhancing Cargill's brand and reputation with external stakeholders. This includes managing the internal communications editorial calendar, CSST North America monthly business results communication, supporting employee quarterly meetings and internal webcasts, recording and editing business-specific videos, and participating in community outreach efforts. Create and execute communication plans to support projects and initiatives. Serve as steward of Cargill brand across CSST North America.

10% Provide FIBI / CSST communications support as needed, including collaboration with FIIBI and CSST colleagues to provide content for FIBI and CSST channels, including intranet articles, videos, and quarterly meeting content.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree

* 3 years' experience in communications, or a related field.

* Excellent written and oral communications skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise summary of information; excellent grammar.

* Demonstrated skills in written, visual, and multimedia storytelling.

* Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills and have the ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects under tight deadlines.

* Ability to focus on both broad, strategic vision and small, critical details.

* Project management skills. Experience managing communication projects from start to finish. Self-starter and effective problem solver.

* Strong team player with ability to engage and make connections across cross-functional teams. Strong influencing skills.

* Ability to understand stakeholders, build relationships, and interact comfortably with all levels of the organization.

* Understanding of various communication mediums and how to use them effectively in communicating with internal stakeholders.

* Curiosity with a passion to learn about the business and make connections to the communication strategy.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Publisher and SharePoint.

* Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Premier Pro (or similar editing software).

* Working knowledge of Associated Press Style standards and guidelines.

* Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment.

* Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or Marketing Communications

* Expertise with communication measurement, analytics, and reporting.
