Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, the Compensation Specialist is a member of the Talent & Culture Team, will partner with leaders on compensation related matters, policies, practices, and/or procedures. Serves as the point person for all compensation administration activities. Provides project management support of Merger & Acquisition activity. Serves as back-up for benefits administration.

Responsibilities

Compensation Administration: (70%)

* Administer compensation programs, including annual compensation review and bonus plan administration. Coordinates any updates to the process and/or technology with other team members, including the Internal Technology (I3T) team.

* Leads the annual salary survey participation process. Analyzes market data for compensation to evaluate competitiveness and internal satisfaction with Total Rewards programs. Summarize market findings into succinct, usable recommendations for leaders. Present a comparison of market vs. Wipfli pay practices to key leaders in the organization and collaborate re: any changes that may be necessary in our approach.

* Respond to report requests, including custom report analysis of compensation related matters.

* Prepare and update position descriptions; apply job evaluation techniques to establish proper compensation levels for newly created and/or updated positions. Assist with special salary requests for competitive salary offers.

* Review compensation programs and guidelines to ensure market competitiveness of Wipfli practices in local markets as well as compliance with country, state, and local wage, salary and hour laws and regulations.

* Review and approve hiring requisitions to ensure accurate position descriptions, alignment of position titles, and market data.

* Maintain and update salary structure and job code structure inside and outside of HRIS.

* Create tools to support tracking and metrics of compensation related matters.

* Support Talent & Culture teams questions regarding compensation approach and philosophy.

Merger & Acquisition Support: (15%)

* Serve as Talent & Culture project manager for mergers and acquisitions. Coordinate the review of compensation and benefit practices for the incoming firm, evaluate macro and micro impact, and coordinate the development of effective communication and support materials. Upon completion of final decisions, build and/or coordinate the building of system impact files. Leverage other team members to complete portions of this work, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of all output.

* Facilitate large group and small group meetings as well as welcome meetings for each incoming associate to explain the benefit transition process and impact to the individual.

* Post integration, maintain a record of prior bonus allocations and remaining pools of dollars available upon integration. Coach the Talent & Culture team members as well as the newly acquired firm on integration best practices to influence toward improved alignment over time, as appropriate.

Benefits Administration. (10%)

* Provides back-up support for day-to-day benefit administration including but not limited to:, conducting benefit orientations as needed, approving enrollments and life event changes, administering FMLA and STD claims filing process, assisting with open enrollment, processing the firm's Health Savings Account contribution, administering worker's compensation, and answering associate questions with assistance from outsourced vendors and Human Capital Generalist team.

General Total Rewards Administration (5%)

* Work with others (human capital, marketing, IT, etc.) to assist in developing and implementing total rewards communication and education strategies.

* Assists the human capital team members in documenting processes so that process maps can be created. May use Visio technology to create and maintain process maps related to primary areas of responsibility.

* Helps to maintain compliance with all legal requirements. This may include but is not limited to Affirmative Action, EEO reporting, FLSA, COBRA and FMLA.

Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related discipline

* PHR, SPHR, CEBS and/or CCP are preferred

* 3- 5 years experience in similar human resources role

* Compensation Administration experience, Experience administering organizational and individual compensation plans.

* Experience developing guidelines, procedures, and training materials related to compensation.

* Experience in transparency communication and the evolution of transparency in a growing organization.

* Experience integrating acquired firms into an existing organization and influencing toward common practice

* HRIS administration work experience.

* Administration of self-funded health plan with qualified High Deductible Health Plan options, and experience administering benefits and leaves of absence in CA and/or varying jurisdictions with high complexity.

* Development of sales compensation plans beneficial but not required.

* Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively

* Ability to balance many projects simultaneously

* Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines

* Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions

* Ability to present content via webinar and/or in-person to groups of up to 100 people.

* Written, Verbal and Presentation, both in person and via technology.

* Strong service orientation which is demonstrated in all forms of communication

* Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in PowerPoint and meeting technology (such as GoToMeeting is beneficial.
