Would you like to provide facility access and security for Wisconsin Veterans who call WVHK their home?

This position ensures that locks, doors and security systems at WVHK comply with provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable fire and safety codes. The incumbent installs, repairs, replaces, re-keys, and adjusts mechanical and electronic locks and electronic access control systems; fabricates and installs related door components and hardware; performs a variety of inspections, adjustments and repairs to buildings and grounds; makes minor repairs such as window glass and/or screen replacements; and performs other maintenance tasks as assigned. The incumbent must work in member residences and interact with members professionally, and must practice safe shop and field procedures at all times

Special Notes:

This position requires the ability to work in the conditions of the job (e.g., performing heavy work, occasionally exerting in excess of 75 pounds of force; climbing and working ladders and/or scaffolding; working with loud, shaking and/or vibrating equipment; wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); etc.).

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical and tuberculosis (TB) test.

Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to any offer of employment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without WDVA sponsorship) at the time of application.

Qualifications:

Minimally-qualified applicants will have experience:

* Cutting keys; and

* Assembling and repairing industry-standard locks; and

* With professional communication and working as a team member; and

* With recordkeeping and inventory tracking

Well-qualified applicants will also have training in locks/locking systems and/or locksmith tasks, and/or experience:

* Pinning door and/or cabinet and/or paddle locks; and/or

* Installing manual/electronic door locks/key and security systems; and/or

* Working in a healthcare facility and/or secure setting
