Senior Member of Technical Staff


In the United States, doctors spend between 11 to 15 years training to care for patients. However, after this time investment, doctor's only spend 27% of their workday with patients. athenahealth aims to solve this problem with our software enabled services platform. We take on the non-patient care work for our clients, so they can focus on what matters: patients. This position falls within our athenaCollector product, where we focus on revenue cycle management. Our zones ensure the financial success of our clients through automation and outsourcing of work related to registration, authorizations and claim submission. Come help us unbreak healthcare.

athenahealth is seeking engineers in love with building amazing software and solving some of the US healthcare's biggest problems. athenahealth's R&D team has undertaken a metamorphosis, building a premier engineering team utilizing powerfully relevant technologies and ground-breaking techniques. We aim to build an open network of independent microservices deployed in the cloud. We need engineers that can help nurture this transformation through a combination of past experiences and future experimentation.

You will need to bring a growth mindset with a willingness to learn and try new things while constantly pushing the boundaries of our technology. You will build and design radically simple applications and components. You will help guide us to eliminate and automate work, not entrench that work in work lists and workflows. You will bring to bear the latest in testing and deployment methodologies to ensure safe code deployment. You will shepherd our engineering deliveries and process.

Job Requirements:

* Ability to produce scalable, secure, safe code

* Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

* Expertise in modern programming object oriented languages such as C#, C++, Perl, Java, Python, and javascript/jQuery

* Knowledge of Unix/Linux, relational database technologies, and various other technologies, modern JS frameworks and other web based development technologies

* Agile know-how preferred
