Senior Software Developer

CSSI, Inc., a leading provider of transportation and mobility solutions to government and commercial clients, is seeking a talented software developer to support the development, operation, and maintenance of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Voluntary Safety Reporting Programs (VSRPs).

Primary responsibilities include:

* Works as part of a dynamic team including FAA and contractor personnel throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)

* Hands-on coding, technical design, testing and delivery utilizing standard procedures and techniques

* Conducts design and code review to ensure compliance with project requirements

* Develops software design documentation for operational/technical support and software sustainability

* Integrates new technologies into existing environments

* Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes

* Applies project and Agile management skills to estimate the level of effort required to develop software to meet project acceptance criteria

Minimum Qualifications:

* A minimum of 8 years relevant experience developing software and web applications

* Experience using Java, HTML, JSF, Javascript, PrimeFaces o Experience with SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle databases o Experience with IDEs such as IntelliJ and Eclipse

* Experience with J2EE technologies such as JNDI, JMS, XML,Maven, and JDBC

* Experience writing and deploying scheduler jobs using J2EE

* Experience analyzing and debugging J2EE-based applications to provide short/long-term solutions

* Experience developing and deploying web-based J2EE applications to both Windows and Linux environments

* Experience developing SOAP and Restful web services (JSON)

* Experience with Object Relational Mapping (ORM) tools such as Hibernate

* Experience using Web application servers such as Glassfish and JBoss

Desired Qualifications:

* Knowledge of Jenkins or TeamCity

* Experience optimizing application servers such as Glassfish and JBoss

* Knowledge of Windows batch scripting o Experience with VMware virtualization

* Good verbal and written communication skills

Educational Requirements:

* A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Math, or Science

This position is located in Washington, DC.
