QMS Manager - Washington DC

LST is seeking an experienced QMS Manager to provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Training Task Order on the SE2025 contract vehicle.


* Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure the compliance with Corporate Quality requirements as well as other applicable quality and regulatory standards.

* Ensure that the performance of the QMS is reviewed at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. This review means assessing opportunities for improvement and the need for changes to the QMS.

* Ensure that Quality Objectives are set by top management for measuring the performance of the QMS and that these are regularly reviewed.

* Overall responsibility for Internal, External and Customer audits; Customer Complaint process; Corrective/Preventive Action programs.

* Provide clear leadership to sustain an environment focused on Quality and the Customer.

* Promote awareness of Customer requirements throughout the organization.

* Manages, coaches, and provides guidance to global quality department personnel to ensure the most efficient use of organizational talent.

* Develops strategic plans to reach company objectives.

* Develops and monitors Quality metrics and implements corrective action when those metrics do not conform to goals.

* Prepares and delivers presentations to global customers, suppliers and manufacturing sites.

* Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products

* Has overall responsibility for product quality. Actively promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the plant by training and assisting plant personnel in problem solving techniques and developing corrective action plans.

* Uses LEAN/Six Sigma principles, rules, systems and tools to support improvement activities and workshops through coaching, training and facilitation, with a highly customer centric focus.

* Champion a Continuous Improvement culture.

Desired Skills and Experience:

* 10+ years of experience in a Quality, Program Management, or Engineering position in an ISO 9001 continuous improvement manufacturing environment.

* Demonstrated working knowledge of LEAN/Six Sigma principles, rules, systems and tools with experience supporting improvement activities.

* Has had responsibility for Quality activities including to but not limited to calibration, non-conforming material, inspection, SPC, auditing, supplier qualification, management review.

* Strong organizational and analytical skills and experience with formal quality assurance tools such as root cause analysis and other problem solving techniques.

* Demonstrated success working in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point software.

* Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of ISO9001 is required, and exposure to ISO14001 preferred.

* Demonstrated "Team Player" with ability to effectively lead, motivate, and coach people in varying disciplines to achieve improved overall performance.

* Advanced degree in relevant field or quality certifications a plus.
