The Windows Services support team provides enterprise level planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and operations services for the DOS Bureau of Consular Affairs.

Key Role/Position Description: The Mid-Level SCCM Systems Administrator will receive guidance from the Windows Support Team lead and Program Management to support the clients Microsoft SCCM environments. The administrator will track significant problems, monitor performance, and performs upgrades to systems as required with the proper change control approvals. The administrator will participate in long-and short-range technology planning and, additionally, will participate in new technologies initiatives and engineering to advance and optimize the client network. He/She will work in a collaborative multi team trouble shooting environment for critical incidents. Maintain documentation regarding system configurations, procedures, and service records related to system changes.

Functional/Industry Knowledge:

5+ years experience installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining Windows Server class systems

3+ years of in-depth experience managing and maintaining Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012.

Must have the ability to:

* Create custom SCCM reports and SQL queries.

* Analyze SCCM log files, provide patch management support, and off-hours maintenance windows.

* Deploy software using SCCM Software Distribution and Task Sequence application tools.

* Prepare, test, and deploy software updates using SCCM Software Deployment Management tools.

* Troubleshoot issues related to SCCM client and infrastructure

* 2+ years experience utilizing scripting languages (PowerShell/VB) to automate system administration tasks.

* Desired (but not required) 1+ year experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy Management

* 1+ years experience creating and managing task sequences in SCCM for operating system deployments

* 3+ years administering, configuring, troubleshooting Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016.

* 3+ years administering, configuring, troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory, to include group policies, DNS, and domain management

* Certification in Windows technologies (MCSE/MCSA) or any equivalent combination of training, certification, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and client focus a must.

* Self starter who takes initiative to get tasks done.

* Knowledge of configuration management and a deployment processes

* Team player must be able to work professionally and collaboratively with the government customer and other contract members of the project team.

* Ability and willingness to multi-task and work in an often high pressure environment with deadlines.

* Manage time effectively with minimal supervision.

* Working knowledge of government IT security and best practices

Education/Certifications: B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred.
