Summary

This position is located in the United States Mint, Product Management Division, Washington, D.C. This position is responsible for: (1) analyzing and forecasting demand for numismatic and bullion products; (2) product pricing; (3) managing the Master Production Schedule; and (4) monitoring performance of various products and channels.

Responsibilities

All candidates who are:

Current or former federal employees qualifying as Status Candidates, Federal employees currently serving on a VRA, VEOA eligibles, CTAP/ICTAP eligibles, eligible for special hiring authorities (e.g., the Schedule A appointment for persons with disabilities, or covered by an Interchange Agreement), or Land Management employees eligible under Public Law 114-47.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14 . If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Examines socio-economic trends in order to estimate overall levels of demand for numismatic and bullion products and how financial, manufacturing and acquisition resources need to be allocated to optimize marketing effectiveness.
  • Manage forecast models, analyze trends, manage forecast tools and maintain accurate data.
  • Performs research and forecasting analysis to determine the feasibility and market viability of new product recommendations in terms of anticipated demand.

Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be require 1 to 5 nights per month.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience:

For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Performing market research related to products, customers, and competitors; AND
  • Compiling and evaluating data in order to make and support recommendations; AND
  • Using statistical analysis to develop objectives or goals; AND
  • Developing, monitoring and managing statistical models and data.

For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Performing market research related to products, customers, and competitors; AND
  • Compiling and evaluating data in order to make and support recommendations; AND
  • Using statistical analysis to develop objectives or goals.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:

For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
