The Workforce Solutions Department (WSD), United States Mint is responsible for ensuring policies and programs that result in fair, consistent, efficient and effective workforce management. The Department executes its responsibilities through three functional areas: Human Resources Operations, Human Capital Strategies and Solutions, and Diversity Management and Civil Rights. This position also ensures WSD activities are aligned with the United States Mint's Strategic Plan and vision and direction of the Director, Deputy Director, and the Chief Administrative Officer, but always in keeping with merit system principles and equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.

As a Director of Human Resources (Deputy Associate Director for Workforce Solutions), you will:

* Serve as Deputy Director for all Workforce Solutions functions.

* Develop and execute WSD departmental annual work plans, five-year Strategic Human Capital Plan, and Key Success Measures.

* Ensure consistent, sound human resource policies and operations for the entire bureau.

* Provide executive direction to the Human Resource Officers (HROs) at the West Point, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Denver Mints.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - 1 to 5 nights per month.

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes as experience in 4 of the 6 areas of Human Resource Management:

a)Employee Relations and Labor Relations

b)Performance Management and Rewards

c)Human Capital Training and Development

d)Positon Management and Organizational Design

e) Staffing and Classification

f) Political Transition and Executive Staffing, Development and Performance Management

in which you were responsible for:

* applying a wide range of workforce management concepts, principles, laws, regulations and practices; and

* providing executive direction over day to day operations of an organization; and

* leading teams to ensure on-time execution of plans and projects; and

* advising senior management on workforce policies and administration.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:

For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
