Seeking an experienced Controller to work in our Washington, DC location. The qualified candidate will primarily be responsible for assisting or managing the following:

* Overseeing all operations within the Accounting department, to include but not limited to all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses;

* Maintaining accurate, clear and concise financial information within the corporate accounting system in accordance with GAAP;

* Preparing the annual Incurred Cost Submissions;

* Preparing annual budget;

* Computing indirect rates and ensuring the integrity of the pools and costs centers;

* Ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP;

* Interacting with functional leaders to develop financial reporting package that provides concise, meaningful information;

* Supporting all DCAA \ DCMA Audits;

* Assisting in prioritizing business planning, strategy, cash management and financial and Accounting operational issues;

* Conducting monthly balance sheet reviews to ensure that all significant and judgmental accounts are materially correct;

* Recommend and implement accounting procedures in an effort to minimize internal control weaknesses;

* Reviewing departmental day-to-day processes and procedures in an effort to streamline and identify process improvement opportunity;

* Reviewing reports and related information to analyze projections of sales and profit against actuals, forecast and budgeted figures;

* Assist and\or review preparation of tax and other government filings;

* Researching technical accounting issues as required;

* Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operations;

* Providing direction, training and guidance to Assistant Controller as needed;

* Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results;

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies; and

* Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.


A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a minimum of five to ten years of related experience within a Government Contracting environment.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license a plus.

Proficiency with Deltek CostPoint 7.0 and Deltek T&E 9.0 are required.

Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager is a must.

Must be proficient using personal computers, spreadsheets, word processors, calculators, and similar office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is recommended.

Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendation.

Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
