About the Position:

This is a permanent position with Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Civil Works, located at the Government Accountability Office (GAO) Building; 441 G. Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20314.

* Serves as a key administrative support function for a diverse and dynamic engineering organization.

* Provides a variety of administrative, secretarial and office automation functions in support of the organization. The duties include but are not limited to:

* Receives visitors and incoming telephone calls.

* Types letters, reports, and memorandums, congressional correspondence and routine documents using word processing equipment.

* Reviews outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy.

* Makes travel arrangements for Branch Chief and staff members utilizing an electronic travel management system.

* Maintains organizational working files.

* Keeps supervisor calendar, making appointments and establishing priorities.

* Utilizes an electronic system for maintaining employee time and attendance records.

* Performs a full range of standard clerical duties in support of the branch.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience which includes: serving as the focal point for administrative policies and procedures; establishing administrative office procedures to ensure compliance with regulations for daily operations; utilizing a variety of automated transmittal systems for labor purposes, government credit card purchases, travel orders, training request, purchase of office supplies, etc.; and providing clerical administrative support in managing an organization with high visibility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
