Inspector 2nd Shift / Quality Technician

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following – other duties may be assigned:

* Confirms quality – using hand held measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth gage, gage blocks, etc.).

* Confirms Quality using programmable measuring equipment (OGP, CMM).

* Understands tolerances and which resolution gages to use in certain circumstances.

* Interprets and understands blue print requirements.

* Interacts with other departments as needed, such as obtaining "First Piece".

* Documents quality findings on Material Review Reports and submits documents for Engineering and Quality disposition.

* Understands how to retrieve check lists and current prints.

* Possesses standard tools of the trade, with specialty tools provided by the Company.

* Records labor and other production information on time sheets, KPI boards or other places as assigned.

* May perform specialty programming, setup or leader operations as assigned.

* Understands and helps maintain traceability of material to raw material and special processes.

* Completes and confirms completion of required documents.

* Understands Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and how to apply it to measuring parts.

* Follows all safety and work rules.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A High School diploma is required

No less than 2 years of experience in Quality Inspection /control is required

Past work experience in a manufacturing precision machining environment is preferred

Must be able to read blue prints

Must have experience with measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth gage, gage blocks, etc.)
