Position Summary:

At Byron Park, the Driver is responsible for helping implement the community's Art of Living WellSM philosophy and the 6 dimensions of wellness (Vocational, Intellectual, Physical, Emotional, Social, and Spiritual) through daily interaction with residents and providing transportation to community programs, events and resident appointments as required. The community Driver provides exemplary customer service that encourages independence and fosters a secure and friendly environment.

Essential Job Functions:

* Drive vehicles to community events, special programs, shopping excursions, and resident appointments as required.

* Assist with scheduling transportation as required.

* Monitor residents' well-being in a general way and report any changes in condition to the appropriate associate/department immediately.

* Promote resident attendance and participation in all Wellness programs.

* Monitor residents' participation and activity levels and provide feedback to the Wellness Director as needed.

* Maintain a safe and professional manner at all times while driving community vehicles and when representing the community off site.

* Monitor general maintenance and overall safety of vehicles and communicate any concerns to Wellness Director immediately.

* Teach and facilitate programs as appropriate.

* Assist in setting up/tearing down Wellness and community events as needed.

* Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

* High school graduate

* One to two years' experience as a driver preferred (preferably with seniors)

Special Requirements/Certifications:

* Valid driver's license and proof of good driving record

* Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one within reasonable time of employment (as required)

* First Aid Certification
