* Draft, negotiate and review various types of commercial agreements, including master services, licensing, professional services, marketing, consultant, strategic partner and vendor agreements;

* Vendor and commercial agreements will comprise the majority of this job;

* Coordinate with compliance, operations, sales, new markets and other teams at YapStone to ensure that the vendor and commercial deals we enter will support YapStone's current and future product development;

* Manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions to ensure timely and knowledgeable support of critical projects, deals and initiatives;

* Develop, share and deploy knowledge and best practices for working with processors and financial partners, including the application of payment network rules and regulations to YapStone's products and services; and

* Help ensure that YapStone's products and service offerings comply with applicable law, which may include BSA/AML, State MTL regulations, FinCEN rules, FCRA, Reg E, GLBA, GDPR and PSD2.


* Strong team orientation required, with desire and ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of ownership and urgency, high energy and enthusiasm required for our high-growth environment

* A Bachelor's Degree, a Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school required, with a license to practice law in California preferred

* 4-7 years of experience practicing law required, with a minimum of 2 years in-house experience

* Outstanding written, oral, research, negotiation skills required

* Strong-deal making and legal project management experience required.

* fluency with, or eagerness to learn about, technology to the extent necessary to counsel the business

* that she/he is a flexible, proactive self-starter, hard-working, quick-learning and comfortable with informed decision-making

* business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while providing pragmatic advice

* strong analytical and advisory skills, including the ability to review, evaluate and counsel business colleagues on complex and routine legal questions relating to various business issues with unfailing discretion and impeccable integrity

* the ability to multi-task and to consistently deliver outstanding, thoughtful and focused results in a fast-paced environment

* Expertise in data privacy, litigation, ecommerce law and payments law preferred
