Position Summary:

At Byron Parl, the Chef de Cuisine supervises the preparation of all meals for residents, guests and associates. This position is an integral part of our heart of house, working side by side with the culinarians to ensure the highest quality of seasonally prepared meals is served daily through various venues while maintaining excellent sanitation and cleanliness. The Chef de Cuisine will promote responsible revenue growth and maintain expenditures within budget under the guidance of the Dining Service Director.

Essential Job Functions:

* Support Dining Service Director to achieve balanced results in associate engagement, resident loyalty, and financial performance.

* Manage and improve resident and family satisfaction and loyalty using a variety of listening and learning methods, process improvement, and the anticipation of and responsiveness to needs and concerns.

* Demonstrate culinary ability instructing and educating culinary associates in diverse cuisines and new cooking equipment.

* In collaboration with the Dining Service Director, create seasonal menu(s) that align with regional preferences promoting choice and options for residents, guests and associates.

* Perform daily quality assurance testing on raw goods, plated foods and prepared meals ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

* Drive process and continuous improvement.

* Monitor residents' well-being in a general way and report any changes in condition to the appropriate associate/department immediately.

* Ensures an excellent dining experience in all outlets by collaborating with culinary leader in the creation of menus and menu pricing as needed.

* Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Culinary certification OR a minimum of five years professional culinary experience in quantity food production, menu writing and kitchen management

* Must possess strong communication skills

* Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including: Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom applications

* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

Special Requirements/Certifications:

* A current Food Handler's Certificate required
