Job Description Summary Automation Engineer Location: Walkersville, MD Role Purpose: Provide Process Control coverage for both software and hardware systems supporting Process and equipment. Position will be looked upon to be a leader in the process control area. Provide input on new equipment designs, gathering quotes and working with external support. Support maintenance and production providing engineering support and troubleshooting of production equipment. Identify areas of improvement for controller’s/PLC’s hardware and software. Primary Accountabilities, Duties and Responsibilities: Provide Automation support (both software and hardware) for new and existing systems in a cGMP environment. Assist with troubleshooting issues with Controls/PLC’s hardware and software. Manage small projects involving process and equipment controls. Coordinate with vendors and production for systems upgrades, changes, maintenance and breakdowns. Creates software and hardware design specifications, implements new control strategies and develops software protocols on support of new processes. Determine requirements and participate in FATs, Commissioning, and Validation efforts. Reviews control panel designs and layouts including power distributions, I/O assignments and grounding.
