Construction Records Auditor I or II

Audits and conducts final review of construction project records; verifies contractor compliance with state and federal requirements. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Duties

The essential duties for this job include:

Construction Records Auditor I:

* Advises contractors' bookkeepers on record-keeping procedures.

* Assists with Federal Highway Administration and departmental reviews of construction records and may act as liaison with this agency.

* Serves as District DBE Coordinator as needed

* Monitors material testing requirements, results and reports for compliance with specifications and standards.

* Participates in meetings regarding contract administration.

* Performs and reviews construction records audits and coordinates with area engineers on monthly and final estimates, change orders, supplemental agreements and work orders.

* Prepares related correspondence and reports.

* Verifies contractors' compliance with federal requirements for EEO and the on-the-job training, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs.

* Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Construction Records Auditor II:

* Advises contractors' bookkeepers on record-keeping procedures.

* Assists area engineers by providing direction and technical expertise in resolving contract administration problems.

* Assists with Federal Highway Administration and departmental reviews of construction records and may act as liaison with this agency.

* Serves as District DBE Coordinator as needed.

* Monitors material testing requirements, results and reports for compliance with specifications and standards.

* Performs and reviews construction records audits and coordinates with area engineers on monthly and final estimates, change orders, supplemental agreements and work orders.

* Performs final review of contracts.

* Represents the district at meetings regarding contract administration; drives to perform this duty.

* Verifies contractors' compliance with federal requirements for EEO and the on-the-job training, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs.

* Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Education

This job requires the following:

Construction Records Auditor I or II:

* High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies

Work Experience

This job requires the following:

Construction Records Auditor I:

* 6 years in Construction record keeping, auditing

* (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)

* No supervisory experience required.

* Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis.

Construction Records Auditor II:

* 7 years in Construction record keeping, auditing

* (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent)

* No supervisory experience required.

* Related College education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications

The following Licenses and/or Certifications are required for this job:

Construction Records Auditor I or II:

* Safety Impact Certificate

* Valid Drivers License

Other Conditions:

* This position is determined to be Safety Impact by responsibilities, it will be subject to random drug testing.
