Position Summary

Under the direction of the Value Stream Coach & Change Agent, this position is responsible for helping drive continuous improvement in overall operations through the implementation of lean transformation and daily management initiatives. This role drives improvements through tactical support of Kaizen, RIEs, and other lean transformation activities.

Essential Functions:

* Define normal and standard condition within the team area utilizing standard work and 5S.

* Recognize and respond to abnormal conditions within zone TAKT time.

* Be the local resource to train the employees on Operational Excellence tools (Standard work, 5S, 7 wastes, House of Lean, TAKT, cycle reduction).

* Implement and improve Standard Work, 5S and workstation layout with the goal of waste elimination.

* Support TPM (total productive maintenance), ensure TPM towers are maintained by the appropriate personnel.

* Improve Employee Engagement through good communication and implementation of employee ideas.

* Lead problem solving efforts in JDIs (just do its) & 9SPS (9 step problem solving) A3's. Participate in RIE's (rapid improvement events).

* Work closely with Team leader(s) to facilitate associate training following the TWI (training within industry) model and maintaining the training matrix.

* Ensure safe, timely start up at the beginning of the shift and monitor for standard condition at the end of shift.

* Attend MDI meetings.

* Must be willing to learn and be open to coaching to improve transformation quality and pace.

* Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.) and is able to generate charts, graphs, and other functions.

* Must be able to give examples of logical thought processes for project management activities.

* Other duties as identified by the Value Stream Coach & OPEX Change Agents to further the site's Lean manufacturing initiative.

Language Skills:

* Must possess strong written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with various audiences at the site level.

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, supervisors and managers at the site level

Interpersonal Skills

* Must be viewed credibly as either an informal leader or a positive influencer of change

* Must be a self-motivated learner

* Must possess a strong work ethic

Reasoning Ability:

* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing work environment.

Minimum Education, Experience & Certification

* High school education required (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred)

* Knowledge of basic Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement based tools and techniques highly preferred
