Ultrasound Technologist - ARDMS or ARRT(S) Certified

We invite you to come join our Ventura Imaging Center's team as an Ultrasound Technologist. This full-time career opportunity has a Tuesday-Friday 1pm to 9pm and Saturday 7:30am to 4pm schedule, and is located at our multi-modality outpatient imaging practice in Ventura, CA. The center uses GE Logiq S8 equipment, and provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging services to the community in a patient friendly and comfortable environment. As a Sonographer you'll:

* Perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, such as general ultrasound, breast, OB/GYN, vascular, and other ultrasound exams on incoming patients.

* Respond to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and processes, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding personal health information, including but not limited to, patient diagnosis, health history, demographics, and referral information.

* Responds to physician questions and needs regarding patient procedures.

* Assists radiologist(s) with ultrasound-guided biopsies and procedures if needed.

* Performs all quality control testing as required.

* Assists in the transporting of patients.

* Treats patients and customers, including family members or care providers that may accompany the patient, with courtesy, professionalism and respect.

* Monitors patients' well-being during exam; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.

* Checks patient history, and obtains appropriate signed waivers, if necessary.

* Consults with radiologist when necessary to determine appropriate scanning procedure.

* Completes all paperwork and exam reports associated with technical procedures.

* Checks referral for appropriate study based on patient history.

* Keeps ultrasound exam rooms and dressing booths clean and properly stocked with supplies.

* Assures room is ready prior to the patient entering the room (i.e. equipment is operable, all supplies are readily available, and has been appropriately cleaned and prepped).

* Handles delicate situations (fetal demise, cancerous pathology, etc.) in a supportive and empathetic manner ("good bedside manner"), while maintaining appropriate confidentiality regarding exam outcomes or potential issues.

* Communicates delays or changes in the schedule to the appropriate person(s).

* Exercises sound judgment regarding image quality; seeks guidance from radiologist if concerned about what scan reveals and obtains prior approval before doing additional scans/views in order to better diagnose the patient's possible pathology.

* Releases patient with proper follow-up information.

* Monitors patient library and print films and burns CDs as needed.

* Participates in projects and completes other tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:

* A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a sonagrapher post externship (we will consider recent graduates that have completed their externship at a RadNet center).

* Successfully completed a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

* ARDMS or ARRT(S) Certification

* Must be highly competent in general ultrasound exams such as abdomen, pelvis, ob/gyn, thyroid, and limited vascular such as carotids and lower extremity doppler.

* Active BLS or ACLS certification

* Maintain license, continuing education, and experience in accordance with state, federal, and regulatory agencies' rules and regulations.

* Ability to relate to the public in a professional and courteous manner.

* Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and appropriate fashion.

* Possesses and utilizes excellent customer service skills, and strong written and verbal communications skills.

* Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to interact effectively with doctors, patients, vendors, peers, staff and management.
