REPORTING AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER-HEALTHCARE-CPA

JOB SUMMARY
Manages and oversees the external and internal financial reporting needs of the organization.  Responsible for tax compliance work, tax filings and research.  Manages grant accounting and compliance with federal grant reporting including the single audit process.  Coordinates the external audit function for the financial statement audits as well as benefit audits.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manages the year-end financial statement audit and the state-required audit for Alaska operations, coordination and distribution of audit assignments, prepares the audit reports including footnote disclosures.
2. Manages year-end A-133 Federal Grant audit coordination and distribution of audit assignments to grant management teams and staff.  Serves as resource to grant management teams for federal grant compliance and education.  Assists teams with compliance work plans and corrective action plans for any identified deficiencies
3. Performs monthly consolidation of financial statements for both the obligated and non-obligated group.  Prepares the consolidated audit report.  Provides reports and statements for all key stakeholders, and external resources as appropriate to ensure compliance.
4. Coordinates the accounting functions for joint ventures, Pooled Investment Funds (PIF), Charitable Life Income Funds (CLIF) for both the GAAP and Tax books.  Performs these functions monthly in coordination with our monthly close schedule.
5. Manages the tax functions, including networks, health ventures, pooled investment funds, charitable life income funds, state reporting for B&O and excise tax.  
6. Implements new accounting standard changes that impact us and any tax law changes that impact us.

QUALIFICATIONS  Required unless otherwise stated

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field required.  Master’s of Business Administration is preferred.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
 A minimum of five years’ experience in tax accounting or financial auditing.
 A minimum of two years’ leadership experience required.  
 Healthcare industry experience preferred.
 Prior consolidation experience in a like-size organization preferred.
 Prior federal grant compliance experience preferred.
 990 or other tax experience preferred
 Supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
 Current Certified Public Accountant License is required 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

 Lawson experience preferred.
