Purpose of the
Under general supervision, this position is responsible to provide technical support and root-cause analysis of the battery leak testing equipment and specialized adhesive application processes. This includes troubleshooting, reporting and maintaining quality regarding the production process.
Act as a center of competency regarding the leak testing equipment and adhesive application processes in the battery facility.
Manage root cause analysis pertaining to specialized leak testing and adhesive equipment.
Maintain model year readiness, lead and support the analysis team pertaining to leak testing and adhesive applications.
Track issues found during trials, initiate short term countermeasure coordination and establish back-up systems with respect to leak testing and adhesive applications.
Lead problem solving regarding leak testing and adhesive areas as well as process and efficiency continuous improvement processes pertaining to the associated technologies.
Maintain process integrity according to the released process plan.
Conduct production & design trials as required pertaining to leak testing and adhesive applications.
Oversee leak testing and adhesive equipment buy-offs.
Guide the management of control plan and PLP topics pertaining to leak testing and adhesive characteristics of product and process.
Conduct CAD analysis pertaining to specific characteristics of the product concerning leak testing and adhesive application.
Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
Work safely 100% of the time.
Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in
order to qualify for position.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or in Information Technology, or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination
of education and experience.
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in automotive engineering or equivalent engineering experience (i.e. process, maintenance, design or project management), with a focus on helium leak testing and adhesive applications in an automotive environment.
Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Knowledge of leak testing methodologies for critical leak-tightness applications.
Knowledge of adhesive applications and system management.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project).
Knowledge of automotive assembly automated systems.
Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving activities and work in a “startup” environment.
International and domestic travel is required.
Automotive CAD/CAM skills.
Ability to work around and on high voltage battery systems.
Knowledge in KRL, able to read and write basic KRL.
Knowledge in Siemens control system frameworks (Integra/SPPA).
Experience with Inficon leak testing systems.
Experience with BM adhesive systems
