Job Summary

Under supervision, the Receptionist/HR Assistant position is responsible for answering company phone calls as well as screening, greeting and taking care of customers. This position also performs general administrative support for the Human Resource department.

Primary Responsibilities

* Opens and closes front lobby daily (Monday-Friday) and welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone. Professionally answers all incoming calls, determines purpose and transfers calls to appropriate personnel or departments.

* Responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail, including Saturday delivery box located in front of building.

* Responsible for receipt of all TAM Front office emails for visitors, absences and out of office notifications of all TA personnel.

* Updates telephone directory and other phone lists every Friday to be published on the Intranet.

* Adhere to the Visitor Management policy at all times. Verifies visitors have been screened and current documents are present per the Export Compliance Policy and Procedures.

* Must be fully trained in Esterline compliance systems and input needed information for every visit.

* Provides administrative support to the Human Resources team on all personnel matters including but not limited to Security access, employee photos, recruitment and onboarding support, training scheduling support and administering/coordinating various HR programs and events.

* Ensures compliance with Federal, State and local laws, as well as the company's policies and procedures.

* Maintains the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.

* Understands and lives by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies.

* Performs other duties as required.


* Excellent detail-orientation skills with an understanding of the impact of data entry mistakes on the organization and its employees.

* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

* Excellent computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

* Must be organized, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency to ensure deadlines are met.

* Ability to respond to changing work demands, prioritize effectively and initiate delivery of human resources services.

* Enthusiastic, outgoing and a team player. Be available and responsive to provide outstanding customer service in a timely and efficient manner.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and use judgment on sensitive issues.

* Ability to ask questions and follow up in order to ensure data integrity.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

* High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.

* Minimum 1-3 year's receptionist and/or clerical experience required (Aerospace manufacturing environment preferred).

* Experience in Human Resources strongly preferred.

* Working knowledge of the internet and capable of working in customer web portals.

* Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

* Must be able to function in a high volume, fast paced environment that requires fast response to all internal and external customers.

* Must be able to deal with and react to change in an effective manner.
