Hiring for Part Time - 24/hours week: Day shift with rotating weekends/evenings/holidays
The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric.
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year experience in health care setting
Must have active Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Illinois or Michigan (dependent on location of employment)
Must obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification within 12 months of hire.
Working knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
Working knowledge of arithmetic calculations at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
1 year pharmacy experience
Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or NHA (National Healthcareer Alliance)
