We are currently seeking a SR Construction Manager to join our dynamic Team in the Bay Area supporting a major telecommunications infrastructure project.

JOB SUMMARY

The SR Construction Manager supports the Area Director and is responsible for management and delivery of all project construction and engineering activities related to completion of a multi-year EPC telecommunication project. In synch with the Project Management Office and with support of Project Controls, Finance, Procurement and Quality, the General Manager will coordinate with the Client and the design engineering partners to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of network upgrades and expansions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in complex projects managing diverse functional teams across broad geographic areas. A proven ability to communicate effectively with regulatory agencies, the public and the Client will equip the candidate well in serving as the face and voice of the project delivery effort The General Manager will be expected to drive efficiencies, develop strategic plans that utilize resources effectively, and to manage the budget, schedule, and contractual compliance components of this project. Working as a key member of the project leadership team, the General Manager will be enthusiastic, proactive and focused on building the company image through interaction with customers, the government, community organization and employees, all while relentlessly enforcing ethical business practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Increase management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling and communicating company values;

* Articulate and drive strategic objectives and successful delivery of contractual obligations;

* Encourage open collaboration and information sharing between the diverse functional teams to motivate team building and grow trust;

* Establish and disseminate plans, budgets, metrics and key performance indicators to all relevant team members;

* Allocate available human resources and property assets to ensure capability for successful project delivery;

* Maintain the highest levels of quality in every aspect of delivery and support quality assurance process management as a driver for continuous improvement;

* Set a standard for professionalism in every activity and look for opportunities to reward others that do the same;

* Serve as the expert on all contractual deliverables and develop relationships with regulatory and governmental authorities with whom the company will engage;

* Utilize time management to balance support of all functional areas of the project;

* Ensure that processes are defined and followed for every activity identified in the Project Execution Plan.

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Project Management or related Engineering discipline;

* 10 years of relevant executive and leadership experience on major EPC telecommunications projects;

* Strong working knowledge of site analysis, permitting and approvals, budget control, estimating, project scheduling and construction coordination;

* Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing;

* Excellent customer and Client service skills;

* Strong capabilities in analysis and problem solving;

* Must to enthusiastic and driven to excellence;

* A strong team builder with the ability to motivate others to strive for and exceed project obligations and expectations;

* Demonstrated ability to manage staff and a strong understanding of the entire corporate utility infrastructure functions from planning to delivery;

* Understanding drawings, permits and specifications relevant to the fiber, cellular, and/or cable industry

* Computer literate, knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power point) and Adobe.

PREFERENCES

* MasTec prefers, but does not require, that candidates have experience in the local area;

* Certifications in Project or Program Management (PMP, PgMP, PfMP) and experience utilizing this approach to project execution.
