SUMMARY

Financial accounting position responsible for administration and management of full cycle payroll for a

1,000+ employee, multinational organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage the process of monthly multinational payrolls and semi monthly US payrolls

  • Provide payroll processing backup support globally

  • Develop, mentor and supervise day to day work of payroll staff

  • Manage multi-state and local jurisdiction tax and payroll requirements

  • Maintain international regulatory and reporting compliance

  • Administer equity compensation including incentive stock options, restricted stock units and non-qualified stock options

  • Manage employee leave accrual balances in system of record

  • Review and audit of payroll to ensure accuracy of data

  • Manage and oversee third party payroll vendors

  • Identify and implement enhancements and controls around processes in HRIS and payroll systems

  • Identify and address cross border and expat taxation implications

  • Assist with quarterly and year end processes and reconciliations

  • Monitor payroll internal controls in accordance with SOX compliance procedures

  • Ensure timely and accurate general ledger accounting and reconciliation of all payroll related activities

  • Safeguard sensitive employee information

  • Work closely with HR and broader Finance, Tax and Legal teams

  • Manage and respond to employee queries through the Appian Request Center and assist with employee self-service changes

  • Provide professional customer service to internal and external partners

  • Support outside financial, 401k and workers compensation audits as required

SUPERVISION


  • Direct supervision of payroll staff

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

EXPERIENCE


  • 7+ years payroll experience

  • Global payroll experience necessary, preferably in: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy,

  • Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK

  • Equity compensation administration experience necessary, global experience a plus

  • Strong working knowledge of international, federal, state, FICA and local tax withholdings regulations

COMMUNICATION SKILLS


  • Regular and frequent interaction and communication with employees, management and external auditors requiring strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skill

  • Italian, Spanish, French, German, or Dutch language is a plus

TECHNICAL SKILLS


  • Advanced Excel skills required

  • Ultimate Software / UltiPro a plus, including BI Cognos report writing

  • Celergo software experience is a plus
