Measurement Systems Consultant

This is a lead position within the Magellan Measurement and Processes team that works on complex issues. The position provides measurement support and expertise to all Magellan business units. This position assumes a subject matter expert role in identifying measurement issues and resolving them including equipment concerns, establishing and communicating measurement standards via development/implementation of Magellan-wide procedures, ticketing issues, providing measurement training on existing and new measurement systems and applications, monitoring locations and main line over and shorts, and providing system-wide over and short reconciliation support. This position will mentor and provide guidance to lower level measurement specialists. This position will work with management to provide updates and reports on measurement projects.

Job Requirements

Leads complex project development efforts with all departments to identify the most cost efficient and effective measurement systems to be added to growth projects and provide measurement SME support for the start up of those projects.

Reviews the system looking for areas of potential inefficiency or poorly performing assets. Identifies problem areas and makes recommendations for equipment replacement, system configuration changes, or changes in operating practices. May work with specialists to provide learning opportunities for them to gain experience.

Monitor physical over and short processes to identify imbalances that require investigation or explanation and work with appropriate parties to resolve them. This will require SME knowledge of ODS, Falcon, PHD, and SCADA applications. Provide guidance and training to specialists.

Reviews modification, and development measurement standards and procedures including site specific procedures as required.

Participate in interdepartmental meetings to review physical over and shorts and follow up with actions items and issues. Witness third party metering inspections, attend Magellan water draws, and provide investigation assistance for physical inventory concerns as requested.

Provides assistance in the development and presentation of training for measurement system applications.

This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the candidate's education and experience.
