Internship (Graduate - Unpaid)

Graduate Internship:

Graduate internships will beconsidered on a case-by-case basis and are determined by therequirements of the individual university/college program. Interns will be considered for individuals in psychology, socialwork, human relations and other related degree programs.

Interns will be able to participate in therapysessions, but cannot provide billable services themselves.


Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

Accurately conveys patient behavior and status verballyand in writing. Professional verbal and written skills forcommunicating patient status, and treatment needs to clients,families, professionals, and employees of the facility. Able toverbally adapt spoken communication to meet needs of patient.Maintains professional therapeutic relationships with staff,patients, families and visitors. Able to maintain patientconfidentiality.

Conditions of Employment:

* Satisfactory reference and background investigation checks. Criminalcharges or convictions that occur while employed with SMBHS mustbe

reported within 24 hours to Human Resources.

* Completion of a pre-employment drug screening and completionof post-employment drug or alcohol tests upon reasonable suspicion ofuse.

* Completion of ALL required paperwork prior toreporting for work.

* Completion of pre-employmentphysical, proof of Rubella inoculation, TB screening upon hire andannually thereafter, complete or waive HBV series.
