Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

This person is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the methods, operation sequences and processes for quality measurement and evaluations of equipment, processes and parts. They will perform final inspections on machined components along with detailed first piece inspections of supplier or machined product using measuring systems such as CMM, OGP, Keyence and other inspection equipment. They will measure and report variances, inconsistencies and non-conformances of processes and components as well as work with Engineering to find best value remedies.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Oversee and train operators for CMM inspection equipment

* Design, acquire and implement fixtures and fixturing for various parts to be automatically measured using the Micro Vue CMM

* Train, Oversee and Manage use of the Micro Vue CMM on all shifts

* Implement Setup Evaluation Training, Tracking and Improvement

* Oversee Calibration of Equipment, Calibration Evaluation and Improvement Activities for Calibration

* Assist with collection of data for Red X Projects, Kaizen Activities and Engineering Improvements

* Oversee Measurement for PPAP's, Die Run Off's, Die Improvements and Corrections

* Oversee PPAP approval and successful launch of AMPSEAL Project

* Program/ operate multiple types of machines including horizontal and vertical milling machines. Able to set up machines and train set-ups on those machines. Utilize software for programming purposes (Mastercam, Esprit, TB Deco, Cimco, AutoCad)

* Program/operate measuring systems such as RAM, OGP, CMM, Keyence, standard inspection measurement equipment and gages. Inspect product from production and suppliers. Setup, program and operate measuring systems to determine whether parts meet print dimensions.

* Work independently. Establish daily priorities and determine the most important tasks to perform at any given time of the day.

* Use Windows software applications including Outlook, Excel and Word. Receive data instructions by email and communicate inspection results to engineering, inspection and management.

* Team player. Work and train inspection and others on the use of the OGP Video/Probe, CMM, RAM and other measurement equipment. Trouble shoot and problem solve issues related to inspection of components.

* Tool design and fixturing. Able to design fixtures and tooling.

* Lead cost savings initiatives and new equipment justification.


* Required:

* Ability to program and operate multi-axis machines and measuring systems

* Exhibit extensive print reading capability and through knowledge of geometric dimensions & tolerancing

* Trouble shooting skills

* Inspection skills

* Preferred:

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing, tool design and fixturing

* Prior inspection and SPC experience

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

* Good interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to both work independently and in a team environment
