The Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is actively recruiting for a Physical Therapist to join the Health Services Department. This position will provide therapy services to disabled children in a school based setting for the California Children's Medical Therapy Program.

Typical Duties:The Physical Therapist confers with the physician or senior therapist to determine types of treatment required in each case; adapts games, arts and crafts as therapeutic treatment; assists parents in understanding and handling children with chronic orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. He or she will teach parent/caregivers and/or child exercises, activities, and techniques that will improve strength, range of motion, balance, equilibrium, stability, and functional mobility skills. The successful candidate will maintain relevant and timely documentation of treatments and services provided in accordance with the CCS Medical Therapy Program guidelines.

Employment Standards:Required:

* The qualified candidate will have graduated from a college or university and have completed an approved course in Physical Therapy. Must be licensed to practice as a physical therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Additional Information:

Conditions of Employment: Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate valid California driver's license. Candidates selected will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Additionally, a background investigation may also be conducted. Some job classes may also require a physical exam.
