POSITION SUMMARY:

The kids' zone associate is responsible for the daily oversight of the area. They will oversee kids that visit us while their parents remain in the store. They ensure all the children in Kids zone are safe,supervised, and accounted for at all times. Follow a clear and consistent daily routine or schedule.Ensure the kid zone is set up is stimulating and attractive. They will communicate verbally with parents on a daily basis at sign in and sign out. Complete the necessary paperwork with accuracy.Perform general housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, taking out the trash, flushing kids'toilet after it is empty, sweeping, vacuuming, sanitizing toys, etc. Demonstrate dependability by working your scheduled work hours and using personal time according to Curacao policy. Associate must love to work with kids and youth. High energy, upbeat, bubbly and talkative.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Include the following. Duties may be assigned and changed as needed.

* Provide child care to children including paging parent/guardian if necessary to assist withdiscipline issues and attending to personal needs

* Ensures the Kid's area is neat, clean, and organized.

* Logs every Kid into the kid's zone, verify parent(s) has read and understands the Kid's Zonesign in/sign out policies.

* Fills out the Sign in Registration form with all the kids' information as well as the parentsinformation

* Once filled out provide the parent with kid's zone login sheet that will be carried and returnedon pickup.

* Issue the pager for call backs when the child is acting up and or need parent help.

* Participate and entertain children with games or other approved activities

* Patience in dealing with children and customers

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Attention to detail

* Energetic and Friendly

* Ensures that the files are kept organized, and that all necessary forms are available for each shift

* Files the daily login sheet with the registration forms daily. Keep for 180 days.

* Ensures that every child left within the Kid's zone kept within the area and is monitored and watched to ensure they are safe.

Other Requirements

A Kid's area associate must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A background in child care and or a summer/winter camp counselor is preferred.The Kid's area associate must be able to speak and understand English and Spanish at a conversational level. They must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. They must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and management.6-12 months child care experience preferred Kid's zone associate must have both a background check and a drug testing completed before they are hired.
