Health Educator Registration

This position is responsible for educating all staff in registration, scheduling and billing aspects of their job. This person must identify and communicate the revenue cycle initiatives in a practical, useful way for staff. This person is vital to improving department efficiency through training, improving customer service and department satisfaction, and resolving billing issues that streamline the revenue cycle.


1. Uses Epic's oneChart work queues to resolve billing issues and other system deficiencies which suspends billing. Insures correct and timely billing to streamline revenue flow.

2. Supports department and non-department training initiatives by preparing and maintaining training documents, training staff on work queue, order entry, oneChart scheduling and registration processes related to revenue stream. Serves as department content expert for Radiant order entry processing by maintaining reference materials and providing coaching and development when errors occur.

3. Provides management support by representing department at meetings and work groups.

4. Communicates with supervisors and outside vendors regarding quality and training needs. Identifies and communicates quality assurance opportunities for improvement to supervisors and staff.

5. Provides support to outside departments and outsourced order entry staff. Manages the Radiant e-mail account by responding to problems, questions and issues.

6. Supports "Provider on the Fly" maintenance project, Quality Assurance follow up and documentation, and web page maintenance

7. Creates and maintains statistical data documents relating to work queues, Radiant Order Entry, and department quality

A. Education / Training: High school diploma required. Some college experience preferred.

B. Work Experience:

* 3 years OneChart experience related to Cadence scheduling, Prelude registration, and work queue Queue applications required to perform job. Extensive knowledge of Revenue cycle stream, department work flows, revenue and cash collection/Counter Point process flows preferred.

* ·Queus – required by the department.

C. Other Qualifications:

* Windows-based system skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Outstanding customer service, written and verbal communication skills. Mediation skills. Able to multi-task

* Candidate must have the ability to read oneContact scheduling templates and has a working knowledge of the Epic technical database. Candidate must be skilled and professional when creating and presenting educational materials. Articulate and comfortable when making oral presentations.

* Special security is granted to this individual from IT in order to perform necessary duties in oneContact. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of the needs of both the internal staff and the external departments that we serve. Individual must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the billing processing in oneContact and throughout the revenue cycle
